The castle in Janowiec is a branch of the Nadwiślańskie Museum. In the past it belonged to the aristocratic families of Firlej, Tarło and Lubomirski. At present you can visit: The castle was built at the beginning of 16th century and was gradually expanded until the 18th century. Such names as Santi Gucci Florentino (Renaissance), Givanni Battista Falconi and Tylman of Gameren (Baroque) are connected with the castle. You can visit: the courtyard, arcades, and the terrace from which the old Vistula valley can be seen. The reconstructed North House accommodates the exhibition, “The History of the castle: Construction, Expansion, Preservation”. The baroque house from the 1770’s was moved here from Moniaki, a village near Urzędów. It is a permanent exhibition of a land owner’s house and guest rooms. The wooden barn was also built in the 19th century. It was moved from Wylągi. It has an exhibition of horse-drawn vehicles from the private collection of Jan Wzorek.
The complex of household buildings contain old storage areas, a cart house and a house from the 1920’s.
