The Goldsmith Museum is the only museum of the kind in Poland. There are collections of old and contemporary exhibits with special emphasis on Polish and foreign goldsmiths working in Poland. It supports contemporary goldsmiths by organising temporary group and individual exhibitions. The exhibits shown here are examples of the Polish and foreign art from various centres dating back to gothic: Christian and Jewish worship silverware from 15th-20th C Table silverware by Russian and West-European masters from 18th and 19th C Table silverware by Polish silversmith centres from 18th and 19th C Warsaw silverware from the end of 18th C till the end of 19th C Polish contemporary silver and gold art The collection consists of 1500 exhibits and is, in its considerable part, a gift of Jędrzej Jaworski (a collector and initiator of the Museum). The collection was expanded by Museum’s own purchases and deposits from other museums and works of modern artists.
